“Feet are a reflexologists domain; they specialise in feet and are accustomed to seeing them in all shapes, sizes and conditions. The feet represent the body and encompass a wealth of information about one’s state of health. They are the keys to revealing where imbalances lie and play a vital role in the enhancement of general health and well-being.” Inge Dougans.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a holistic (complete) therapy based on the principles that different points or reflexes on the feet, hands, ears, arms, head, legs etc. correspond to different systems and or organs of the body, providing the reflexologist with a body map. Your feet contain over 7000 nerve endings along the reflex area.  A reflexology treatment makes use of different manual pressure techniques and equipment to stimulate these reflexes.

Applying thumb pressure to the reflexes stimulates the movement of energy into the body via the body’s meridian (vital energy) pathways. These pathways are congested by - lifestyle choices, environmental factors, stress, illness, pain, fatigue etc. This stimulation produces physiological changes, helping to restore health and balance to the body.
